Namib, Namibia
Shooting from a small plane
Three mornings in a light aircraft over the dunes, and the notes I wish I had before the first one.

The safari lodge flies its guests over the dunes to the coast, so the brochure needed the same view. I booked three flights to be safe and needed all of them.
The first morning I shot too wide and too fast. From the air everything looks important, and almost nothing is. By the second flight I had a list of three shapes I wanted and ignored the rest.
Practical things
Ask the pilot to bank, not to slow down. Keep the shutter fast, the lens hood off the window and your elbows off the airframe. And eat something before you go up, because turns over dunes are not kind to an empty stomach.
The third morning the fog sat exactly where the sand meets the sea. That frame became the cover.
